I purchased my Huey Pro in June this year and have been using it without problem on my iMac 3.06GHz (March 2009) running Leopard (10.5). I recently updated to Snow Leopard (10.6.1). I used version 1.5.1 of the hueyPro software (the same version I have been using since June) to calibrate today for the first time under Snow Leopard. Unfortuantely, it gives me a very faint greenish color cast AND the color is rather flat.
After searching through the helpCENTER, I read where it was recommended to access the hueyPRO control panel and click the "Reset hueyPRO..." button. I did this and recalibrated, but the end result was worse than before. I then read about "Laptop mode" possibly fixing color casts, but I don't see that feature at all on the hueyPRO 1.5.1 software.
Interestingly, I then clicked the "Uncorrected" radio button in the hueyPRO prefs pane and then I clicked Displays > Color and clicked on the "- native" profile (which I confirmed was created by my recent hueyPRO calibration). The end result looks quite decent, almost perfect actually. And yet, hueyPro is basically set to off ("Uncorrected"). So I am confused.
I would like to add that I do not get any errors at all when I calibrate using the 1.5.1 hueyPRO software, unlike some in
this thread have mentioned. I only got one initial error when starting the software that said it could not find the calibrator even though it was connected directly to the back of my iMac. But when I disconnected it and then quickly reconnected it, all was well and I've not had any further such problems.
Any assistance Pantone can provide about the color cast I have reported would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
